WHY YOU SHOULD BOOK UP WITH THE PAMPLONA POSSE

Some of the guys in our group have been going to the fiesta for over 20 years, many of them have forgotten more about the fiesta than many of the so called experts that litter the web. However this may just be because of the booze they have gone through that has caused all the memory loss. In reality the Pamplona Posse are the experts if you want a great party time and want to know the best way to watch or to run with the bulls. You can get a cheaper trip by staying 40 km away at one of the campsites but, transportation will be a nightmare with the last shuttle leaving just as the party gets going. You can try and arrange your own accommodation but then you will miss out on all the advice and guidance about the fiesta before hand and during the event. In addition to many newsletters and articles the Posse sends to everybody that has booked with them, they do a walking tour of the bullrun course each day with an expert runner, this give an incredible insight into one of the greatest thrills in the world. It is a waste of time to travel all the way to the fiesta attempt to run and be cleared off by the police because you are in the wrong place at the wrong time. Being with the Posse ensure that this will not happen if you go with their guidance.

The Pamplona Posse tends to hang out together in the evenings either at the fireworks or in the main square, this means that for solo travellers the Posse is a great group to party with for the fiesta. This is no slick travel company, with fancy brochures and rooms with chocolates on the pillow. Hence the very basic website, these guys do not do any other gig, Pamplona is their passion and you can be sure that any of the TV companies that want to make a program about the fiesta or the bull run consult with these guys. Last year we helped these guys make a short documentary.

BULLRUNNING HEALTH WARNING

Below you can see a disturbing little montage we have put together about the damage one bull called Universal did on one morning in 2007. This was the day that two brothers from the USA were gored by the same bull at the same time, one on each horn. They were actually both part of the Pamplona Posse. They had gone on the walking tour and had been told not to run the curve if it was their first time. They then decided that it could not be as difficult as the expert runner had described and they ran the curve for the first time. The rest is history, they recovered and were out of Hospital in a week and I think they learnt their lesson.

We will be adding information to this page and adding a few more video clips which will give a better picture of what we offer, our aim is not just to get you to part with your cash and point you to a room; we want you to enjoy the build up to the fiesta and to understand what happens in town during the party so that you can maximise your enjoyment. We want you to understand how the bullrun works and what to do and more importantly what not to do to have a good run or to watch from a good spot.

GENERAL ADVICE

In addition to our expert views about how to run with the bulls we also advise people about other risks at the fiesta. You have to beware of pickpockets, the big crowd and the drunken tourists make it easy pickings for the criminals. In addition they are not always easy to spot, they do not wear striped shirts with a bag of swag over their shoulders. They dress in fiesta gear to blend in with the crowd. It is a tradition in Pamplona that the mothers start sewing buttons onto the pockets of their sons and husbands trousers as the fiesta approaches. Never carry a wallet with you at the fiesta, just loose notes in your pocket and if you have any big notes carry them in your socks or for women tucked in your bra, just remember not to let anybody put there had in there or it will not only be your chastity that you might lose but your cash as well. If you don’t wear a bra, then arrange to see me privately and we can see what we can arrange. The clip below was not shot by ourselves but instead by a strange American guy who asked if I could arrange an interview with a pickpocket, since I pride myself as a fixer, I arrange the interview with the guy in charge of PR for the Pamplona Pickpockets Guild ( or maybe it was just one of our crew having a laugh…judge for yourself!)
